Jenny Craig Week 1

So the first week of being on Jenny Craig diet food delivered has ended and I gotta say I'm quite impressed, I have had a few little problems but on the whole its been brilliant. If you were thinking of trying this and thought you may feel hungry don't, in fact it's the total opposite most days I was full the rest I was very satisfied in fact there was only 1 day I did feel a little hungry that was day 2 and only because the Lunch (Pea and Ham soup) and the Dinner (Prawn Korma) weren't to my taste in 'real life'  I don't like Korma so I was never going to like it. I had never had Pea and Ham soup before so I have nothing to compare it to I just didn't like it. I also didn't like the sweet and sour noodles but I'm not a big fan of that either. I have had no problem with anything else I love the breakfast cereals and porridge and the Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like the real thing yummy!

Pea and Ham Soup!

Winter Vegetable Soup

Tomato Soup and Yes that is cheese on toast!!!

Sweet and Sour Noodles and a Mahoosive salad!
Pasta Bolognese

Chicken Chasseur with Potato's
I am aware that depending on how much weight you have to loose would depend on how much extra food you will have to have throughout the day. Some days I did feel a little overwhelmed by the amount and also by the fact I could have things like Wholemeal bread as bread of any kind I have avoided in the past because of it high calorific value. I have learned even in this short space of time that it's all to do with portion control and having a meal with all the elements to it Fat, Starch, Protein etc I raised concerns about the amount of food and when I had to have it with my Consultant Jen and she said the food for that day could be moved around as long as you eat it all .

So for the important bit, Did I loose any weight this week?
Yes I did I lost 1LB which if I'm totally honest I'm a little disappointed ( I expected at least 2) I followed it to the letter the only thing  it might have been is the glass of Red wine and a Vodka and Diet coke I had on Saturday night but I will ask Jen about that when I speak to her next. I would also like to point out that I didn't do any type of exercise this week, mostly because I simply didn't have the time but I also wanted to see what impact a change of diet alone would have ( not much as it turns out ). This week I will be working my little (big) tush off!!! I've not measured myself yet so perhaps I'll see more in the way of inch loss rater than weight (fingers crossed).

Is anyone else giving this a go?

Holiday Snaps

As you will probably know almost 2 weeks ago I was in Sunny Alcudia Majorca totally relaxing by the pool, and I thought I would share with you a few pics. It was a very last minute holiday with my Sister Jennie and two of her friends Leanne and Diane and Leanne's 5 month old son Edward or Teward as we called him (so cute). This would be Tedwards first holiday abroad and mine and my sisters first holiday with a baby ekkk!
Actually he was a total gem the heat didn't seem to bother him or being away from his Daddy which meant us girlies had a fantastic time. We didn't do much. It was an all inclusive package (£300 inc flights Bargain) so we didn't really leave the complex which was huge we stayed at the Belle Vue with a choice of 8 pools and the lovely beach just 10 mins away what more could you ask for. It was great I came home well rested and relaxed.

Jenny Craig!

Well I'm back from my holiday and I'll share photos with you in another post.

Waiting for me when I got back was an email from the Jenny Craig PR team asking me if I would like to take part in a 2 week trial and then and blog about my experience.  Well first of all this is the first time Anyone has contacted me to review Anything so I was a little excited, secondly I have always wanted to try one of these Diet plans that get delivered to you complete but the price put me off a little as a low wage earner I also was worried if I did give it a go would actually enjoy the food. As I have always struggled with my weight I'm up for trying anything (especially if it's free!) and if it works for me.... well I'll find the money!

So How it works... 2 weeks worth of Jenny Craig Diet food Delivered to you door or work in my case and you just have to include fruits and vegetables just to add a little something to the meal. There is a wide variety of food to choose from including soups, curries, pasta and stews they even have crisps and chocolate biscuits!!! They sent me a mixture of the range and excluded the tuna dishes I told them I didn't like. Pretty much Everything comes foiled packed so you don't need to keep it in the fridge and you can microwave or hob cook the food. When you phone to register the take all you details and send you out a meal plan and the calories you allowed. I was surprised at how often I have to eat 6 times the 3 main meals and 3 snacks. They also organize a call from a consultant who rings up weekly to answer any questions you have and find out your progress.

Today is my first day of the trial and I must admit I wasn't looking forward to my breakfast of porridge with apple a cinnamon but it was really nice and I was quite surprised so I have decided not to pre-judge any of the food and take things as they come. Red Thai noodles for lunch and Beef Goulash for dinner as well and a jenny Craig snack and plenty of fruit. I had the call from my consultant today too her name is Jen and she was very friendly and answered all my questions fully, I really felt like she really wanted to help me to loose weight and it is encouragement I want and need.

This was my Lunch and Dinner today they were both pretty yummy.

So far I am feeling very optimistic I'm really hope that it will work for me I'm gonna give it a good go anyway. I'll let you know how I'm feeling after the first week fingers crossed.

If any of you are interested in giving Jenny Craig a go let me know in the comments below or drop me an email skinally@yahoo.co.uk and I will pass on your details and you never know you may be able to do a similar thing!
