Sofa..So Good!

My mission to redecorate started with a sofa, a sofa so uncomfortable it made the floor appealing. But with little to no money the only choice I had was to find a free one, enter my lovely Brother. When he moved house he was on a similar mission find free sofas he took to freecycle and found many, too many so when I told him of my predicament he came to the rescue and told me I could swap it for one his.
So I got my self a second (well third) hand sofa. I certainly looked funky smelt a little like that too but I soon changed that.
I gave it a good old vacuum and the sprinkled on a little shake and Vac, do you remember the song...
' you do the shake and vac to put the freshness back, do the shake n vac and put the freshness back, when your carpet smells fresh, your room does too, every time you vacuum you know just what to dooo!'
Then it just needed a new cover, now if you have ever looked for a sofa cover you know they cost and arm and a leg in fact you might as well just get a new one. So I decided a throw would be the best way to go. I jumped on ebay to have a look and I was surprised to see this Elastic easy slip sofa cover for a very reasonable price of £29.95. Well I loved it and ordered it straight away in the colour Grey, it came in just a couple of days and was super easy to fit. It was perfect and made my old dingy looking sofa look new.
Now i just have to find the perfect throw to complement my room theme. So having seen my inspiration post and my first go at up-cycling if you find any thing you think I may like please let me know I would love your input xx.

PS. I know you have the shake and Vac song stuck in you head... yeah sorry bout that LOL.

Christmas 2013 Wish List

This year I found it extra difficult to make a Christmas list, usually there are load of things that I want Santa to bring me. So I decided to do a little window surfing!
I use Amazon as a wish list, they have a brilliant little widget that you add to your browser toolbar which allows you to add items from websites all over the net. You can see them all in you Amazon which list which is then searchable by friends and family or who every you send it to. It works like this...
I have a few products on my Amazon list from Jo Malone so when you look at the list you see a picture of the product and a link to it, you click the link it takes you to Jo Malone's website (we all know what a link does!!!) then you buy it (Thank you very much). Once it is bought you go back to the amazon list and click where it says - Mark this item as purchased and it sends you an email. You click the link in the email and it removes it from the list, this way the person doesn't get multiples of the same item. Brilliant isn't it. It's not just for Christmas either I have multiple lists which I keep private for things I see throughout the year when I fancy treating myself.

Anyway back to my Christmas list and some of the things I have asked for this year.
My Christmas List 2013

Cushions for my new room Ebay, Jo Malone Perfume Set
Robbie Williams - Swing Both Ways CD, Hangover 3 DVD,
ASOS Chunky Necklace, Nails inc Gel Nail Varnish in shade Kensington High Street

Do you/Will you use the Amazon Wish list in the future?
What did you ask Santa for this year?

Build your own Benefit

I recently received  an email from Benefit with a great idea I had never seen before. Build your own benefit kit, it was on special offer at the time pick 3 items from the following categories, Complexion, Cheeks and finally Eyes then you choose one free gift and to finish it comes in a little make-up bag all for £62.00.

For complexion the choice was things like Dr Feelgood,  POREfessional and "that gal" I decided to give the Hello flawless oxygen wow Foundation a go in the 'believe in me' Ivory. I love it, it's quite a light coverage but it can be built up, I felt like it gave me a really natural glow.
For Cheeks some of the choices were Fine-one-one, high beam, Hervana and What's up, my choice was Hoola bronzer. This is a product I have wanted to try out for ages, and it didn't disappoint, a little goes a long way and I love the colour it gives me.
The next choice was Eyes, for this you have Bad Lash Mascara, Fakeup, and Boi-ing but my choice was They're Real mascara as you may know from this post this is my favourite Mascara and I had nearly run out so this was a obvious choice.
Then is the choice for your free gift, new Ceaseless cream shadow, new Longwear powder shadow, new Ultra plush lip gloss, Full-finish lipstick, and Silky-finish lipstick. I decided on the Ceaseless cream shadow in the shade Polished Copper. it is really lovely long wear and perfect on its own or used as a base.
if that wasn't enough Benefit threw in a couple of free samples too.
Added up the individual products would set you back £84.00 not including the make-up bag that's a brilliant saving don't ya think?

Handmade Christmas Cards

Last year I committed the cardinal sin of buying my Christmas cards, this may only be a sinful act for me as I work in a Printing,Crafts and Card making supplies shop (owned by my Mom and Dad) but it also worked out hellishly expensive (in comparison) so this year I decided  I would be making them again.
I got a kick start at the beginning of November as we held and special 24 hour Card-a-thon where we stayed up all night (and day) making cards for charity. Instead of selling the cards I made I donated the price of them instead, and since then I have been slowly making my way down my list. ( in case you were wondering we raised over £1000 in sales and sponsorship for Mary Stevens Hospice)
I thought I would share some of my 'creations' with you. I went Kraft card crazy.
When you find a good theme you should just run with it!!!

Wanna see some of my old cards I have made check out last years Christmas Tag here
What do you think? Would you be happy to get one of these?
