Baby Lips

I have been waiting for Maybelline Baby Lips to come out in the UK for so long, so I was more than a little excited when I got an email from Boots letting me know the were now in store. I placed an order straight away and decided to buy all six so I could do a full review plus I really didn't know which ones to choose. My luck was in Boots were doing 3 for 2 on all Maybelline products so as we'll as being a purse friendly £2.99 I only had to pay for 4 out of the 6 Brilliant!!!
Cherry Me
This is one of the Baby Lips with a hint of colour, it looks really red but it is quite a sheer hot pink colour. It is still a little bit strong for me but all you lipstick lovers out there will love it. Also as the name may suggest it have a really lovely cherry scent to it yummy!
Intensive Care
This one has no colour but it does have an SPF of 20. It has little to no scent but like the others it leaves your lips super soft this is the most like a everyday lip balm.
Pink Punch
This is another tinted Baby Lips it has a sheer pink hint of colour and is a little more to my taste it has a fruity scent which is lovely this one is in the top 3 for me.
Mint Fresh
Does exactly what it says on the pack, it has a very minty fresh scent and taste. This one has no colour and also has  SPF20. This one looks the best for my I love the green a purple packaging.
Peach Kiss
This is the last of the tinted Baby Lips and is my favourite it has a peachy tint which is slightly shimmery, it also (as the name suggests) has a peach scent, this is defiantly the best for me.
... and finally
Another colour free Baby Lips it smells divine like sweet strawberries and again like the other two colour free lip balms it has an SPF20. This one is my favourite I love the decent and the flavour.
Over all I really like Baby Lips the packaging is brilliant so bright and in your face, I can see them being a favourite product of many people for a long time, they are purse friendly, smell amazing and are very moisturising. I don't now if they would moisturise for 8 hours I couldn't wait that long to re-apply!

Have you Tried Maybelline baby Lips?
What do you think?

August Spending Ban

Last year I decided to go on a 60 day spending ban to save a bit of money and use up some of the many products I already own. It didn't do great but it certainly went better than I thought. So I decided to give it  another go. The main reason for this is, it turns out most of my family and friends were born in late June and July, and with my recent holiday as well money is a little tight to say the least, so as well as working a little more than usual I will be putting myself on a spending ban for the whole of August. Hopefully this will mean when Christmas comes (and it's right around the corner Gulp!) it won't wipe me out completely.

Rules I'll be sticking by:-
- I will not be buying Clothes, shoes, Accessories, Nail varnish, make-up, or skincare (which will encourage me to use what I already have!)
- I will not be downloading music, DVD's books or Apps. Unless they are free!
- No cheats/extra moves on Candy Crush! which I'm addicted to by the on Way Level 236 Baby!!
- I won't be buying non Essential Foods like sweets, chocolate and takeaways
 - I can Buy Birthday Presents ( but there are non!)
- I can Buy Essential Food and Petrol
- Obviously I can Pay Bills
- I can spend money on Day trips or Nights out but on a budget or even better free!
- If I find the perfect dress for my Sisters Birthday party in October with a limit of £50 I will allow myself to buy that and that alone!

I will keep you posted on how I am doing, and window shopping is free so perhaps I share with you some of the things going on my wish list.

Is this something you would think of doing?

Throwback Thursday #11

As I have gotten older I have gotten a lot more clumsy tipping, falling, pulling and just generally hurting myself. I'm sure it all stems from this accident, when I hit my head it must have switched on the clumsy!
If I recall right, I was about 5 years old when I had this accident (I say accident!!) Me and my sister were playing on the stairs and after being told several times to stop by my parents we decided to have a final jump from only a couple of steps up, but my sweet and innocent (looking) sister pushed me and I fell straight trough our front door and onto the porch head first and cracked my head open. I ran, I assume screaming, with blood pouring into the sitting room to my parents. The only thing I really remember from then on is, Eastenders was on the telly and being sat on the worktop in the kitchen so Mom could check out the damage. I had to go to hospital to be stitched up, 20 something stitches and a big white bandage.
There is an up side, I was given special treatment at school, allowed to sit on the teachers knee in assembly and given a badge covered in stars, I even had my own personal nurse, my Friend Sarah who helped giving me my pain killers.
I still have the scar not that I really notice it anymore.

Would you Rather - Make Up Edition Tag

I was tagged by MissBeccaBeauty to do this beauty tag. I like doing tags because they're a little like making lists and you all know how i like my lists so here you go

Would you Rather - Make-up edition

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?
I never wear Lipstick or Lip glosses so I wouldn't miss them, I would loose Eye shadows  I must have Mascara!!!

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
Never cut it again, years ago I cut all my hair off and hated it and a couple of years ago I cut it again into a longish bob and after a couple of days loving it I hated it see here. It is now very long and I love it although it is hard work.

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
This is hard because I ave been rocking a coral/peachy cheek lately but ultimately I would choose a pink cheek.

4. If you had £1,000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
Makeup, there is so much that I want to buy I love clothes but I have a lot of them anyway, having said that I have far too much make-up too.

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?
Even though I said before I don't wear lipstick, I can't imagine wearing it as eyeliner so it would be eyeliner as lipstick!

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
We don't have Sephora in the UK but I would choose that I like the variety and not having to stick to just one brand.

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
I would only use one lip colour, I love changing up my eyeshadows.

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?
Due to the fact that in the UK we don't get much of a summer I would wear winter clothes in Summer.

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
I think I would prefer Dark nails I like my deep reds and greens and I also love a Black nail.

10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Like I said I'm not a huge lip product fan so it would be pretty easy to give it up.

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
I love how messy buns look but I can never get them to look right so for ease I would say a pony tail but I prefer a bun.

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
Never use lip gloss who wants horrible sticky stuff all over there lips!! I love painting my nails I find it relaxing.

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or Sharpie them in everyday?
I think I would look far too weird without eyebrows so I guess I would sharpie them in!..... do sharpie do a brown?!?

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
I would defiantly live without nail varnish, my face without makeup is not something that should be seen by the public, however if I couldn't wear make-up if would encourage me to take better care of my skin so swings and roundabouts!!!

I Tag everyone to do this just copy and paste it in to you blog post and replace my answers with you own I't's just a bit of fun please leave me you links in the comments so I can check out you choices.

Throwback Thursday #10

This picture really doesn't have a story with it, I just reflects how I'm feeling at the moment. Very Happy! Although I am not a fan of this ridiculous heat, I am a fan of the sun, it can't fail to make you happy. Talking of happiness last Thursday we also got a new member to our ever growing Family a Little 7lb 8oz bundle of Baby Boy called Benjamin. I'm now looking forward to the trip to Bristol for a visit.

Glossy Box - July 2013 | Seaside Splash!

Alterna Haircare - Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist
Glossybox says...
'Your perfect "seaside Splash" summer companion! Forget perfectly primped hair, and instead opt for effortly tousled, "just-back-from-the=beach! waves with this weightless mist. Adds texture, volume and healthy shine to all hair types.
I have to say I'm not a fan of texture/sea salt sprays, but I will give it a go. I will probably try it out when my hairs curled instead of it's natural straight. I'm easily turned so there is hope for it yet!
Coola Organic Suncare Collection - Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented
Glossybox says...
'We love this tough but gentle multi-tasker. Coola Organic's suncare collection is hypoallergenic, free of parabens and packed with antioxidants. it provides complete UVA/UVB protection and fights free radicals, while soothing, toning and minimizing pores. Organic Acai oil delivers powerful anti-ageing benefits, while organic evening primrose and linseed oils reduce inflammation and balance moisture.'
If only we had had this box last month when I was on holiday,  I could have put this to good use. If I'm completely honest suncream is lost on me, I always go for the cheapest option as I don't tend to spend long periods of time in the sun, so the £29.99 for 50ml price tag is a little steep. Having said that there do seem to be a lot of benefits to this cream looks like it's only missing is a tint to be perfect. Hopefully the weather will continue to be this glorious in the UK so I can use it!
Ciaté london - Paint Pot in Island Hopping
Glossybox says...
'We're excited to feature one of out all-time favourite nail brands, Ciaté. With a range of on-trend summer shades, you'll be hitting the beach in style, Ciaté's wide range of amazingly pigmented and long-lasting shades guarantees a flawless, even finish every time. The Cherry on top? We can't get enough of the iconic satin bow gracing each beautifully designed bottle.
If you have read my past Glossybox posts you will know I love to get nail varnish in a beauty box and this on is no different especially when I saw the colour it's perfect for Summer and even more so for Autumn I can't await to get it on my toes!!
Inecto pure Coconut - Refreshing Dry Shampoo
Glossybox says...
'Looking for a quick pick-me-up on your way from the beach to the bar? Inecto's Coconut dry shampoo instantly refreshes hair between washes, adding body and texture, and- most importantly - leaving your hair smelling irresistibly fresh and exotic. Beauty insider: Did you know that coconut oil has been used as an effective hair and skincare beauty treatment for centuries? It rejuvenates both hair and skin thanks to the rich active properties found in the oil.'
I love dry shampoo's, I use it all the time and like many others I'm sure Batiste has been the number 1 but I'm always looking for an alternative so I look forward to giving it a go.
ILA Spa - Face Oil for Glowing Radiance
Glossybox Says...
'Winner of Harpers Bazaar Hot 100, ila's face oil has become a cult product worldwide and has been named 'a little miracle' by celebrity make-up artists. It's easy to see why! Argan oil and rosehip seed oil are high in anti-oxidants, repairing skin cells while combating premature ageing. You will soon notice a healthy glow to your face with a visibly improved texture and radiance.'
I love face oils so I am always up for giving new ones a go, however I'm not sure it will matter if this is a miracle oil or not, the £75.00 for 30ml price tag means I would never be able to justify  re-purchasing it!

What did you get in your Glossy Box?

10 Things - Spare Time Activities

What is 10 things all about find out here!

Spare time Activities

1) Reading, I must admit I don't do as much of this as I should, I love getting lost in a good book but I rarely never find the time to do it.

2) I love going to see a film at the Cinema, but I love getting all cosy with microwave popcorn and ice cream at home too. I never know what to say when people ask me what my Favorite film is so I don't usually answer as it changes so often.

3) Shopping, what girl doesn't love to do a bit of shopping. I try very hard not to do it very often as I can get a little carried away. What I tend to do is save for a while and then go on a little spree, although what often happens when I do that is not being able to find anything to buy. Bit have you noticed that when you a little broke you want it all, It's so frustrating!!!

4) I love to bake so when ever I get some spare time I bake cupcakes are my favorite but I do a mean cookie too.

5) Visiting my Goddaughter, this is defiantly my favorite thing to do she is so cute I love seeing her gorgeous smile and seeing all the new things she has learned. When my cousins son William (2) is up here from Bristol I always make time to see him too.

6) Blogging and reading Blogs, I work full time so I have to blog in my spare time I love reading the check out my Favorites here.

7) Taking photos, I don't have a fancy camera or anything but I like to experiment with pictures of products and stuff for blog posts. I hope to get better and better the more I try.

8) Messing around with make-up, I love trying out new looks or if I have seen something someone has done that I like on you tube I'll give it a go. I also like playing around with Halloween type make-up too.

9) Day trips are very few and far between but I love to visit places some that are on my list to do are
Harry Potter studio tour
Cadbury World
Sea Life Centre
Black Country Museum

Portugal | My Family Holiday

As most of you will know at the end of June I went on holiday with my Family to Portugal to a little town called Carvoeiro. I have been there twice before in 1993 and again in 2002. If you would like to see me back in 1993 I did a Throwback recreation picture which you can see here we finally got on after several attempts!
Carvoeiro is a lovely little town which has not changed much in 20 years. its full of bars and restaurants and little shops, but is still quite quiet. It has one beach right in town which is lovely and sandy and not to big this one is very popular and another tucked away in a cove very quiet very small but beautiful.
We stayed in a private Villa in Quinta do Paraiso, Monte Carvoeiro which is filled with loads of villa's all different shapes sizes and colours plenty to choose from if we go again. Ours was called Casa Natal it was lovely, surrounded by gardens with a huge pool and plenty of space for all 7 of us, it was light and modern with a hint of tradition. We were about a 10 min walk from town (the only down side was the hill!) It wasn't necessary to hire a car but we did so my Dad and Brother could go and play golf.
We found a great little bar called Bar Havana on restaurant hill in town, with Happy Hour 6-8pm for 2 for 1 on cocktails. They had the strongest Mojito's I have ever had and I indulged my love of gin with a Gin and Melon cocktail which I can't for the life of me remember the name of I'm pictured with in below it was amazing. This was also the bar where My Sister, Brother-in-law and I met Cliff Paris AKA Minty from Eastenders or Fred from Call the Midwife, he was lovely and chatted to Alan like they were mates. Just down a little from the bar was hands down the best Balti I have ever had at  O Indiano .
Towards the end of the holiday I decided to try out the Little beach (I'm not a beach fan!) it was beautiful apart from the sand getting everywhere..oh and the snake we came face to face with walking back up the steps to go to the villa. We screamed very loud and Vicki (my brother's girlfriend) was so sacred she decided to try and and make a break for it cliff side!! I was just a bit annoyed I didn't get my camera out in time! This was probably the hottest day of the whole week iftwas in the 30's it had to be 32 or 33 degrees so as soon as we all got back from the beach we jumped in the pool to cool off and my lovely Mum served us beer while we bobbed around.

Portugal is a lovely place to go I really recommend it, I hope we will all go back again soon.

Where do you love to go on Holiday?
