Weight Loss Update

Hey everyone I thought I would give you a little update on how my weight loss has been going it has been a little while since my last one.
If you follow me on Instagram you are probably really bored of seeing all my Slimming World posts. I have to admit it has taken over my life slightly, but you know what, I really don't mind.
Last night I achieved my 2 and a half stone award and I have to say I am pretty proud of myself. Not only that but I have dropped 2 jean sizes and bought my first pair of skinny's. I am feeling much more confident in the way that I look and dare I say I feel quite pretty more often than not!
Over the last 4 or 5 weeks I have included a lot more exercise into my new lifestyle, this includes a Tap dancing class (if you can believe it) and plenty of Zumba which when you are 2 stone lighter is much easier and a lot more fun to do.
At my Goddaughters 1st birthday recently I was playing with my cousin William who is 2 and a half I picked him up to give him hug goodbye and was surprised at how heavy he had gotten. I asked his dad how much he weighted and he said the he was 2 stone. I can't tell you how much satisfaction I got from actually being able to not only see, but feel how much weight I had lost I felt super proud of myself and it really just spurred me on to do much better and loose even more.
I am still pretty far off my goal weight but I am hoping by my Birthday next year (26th March) I will reach my target weight and what a birthday present that will be.
My aim this year was to really concentrate on Me and My needs and and put Me first for once so far so good.

Slimming World | Tiramisu Recipe

I love cooking and since joining Slimming World I have been doing a lot of it. 2 weeks ago at my weigh in I discovered I was 3lbs off my 2 Stone award, so last week I was really focused on achieving that goal. I was told at class that if I wanted a good chance at achieving it I should include Scan Bran in my menu. For those of you who don't know what scan bran is, it's a  Scandinavian Bran Crispbread very high in fibre which helps to keep you fuller for longer and has had great results in helping with weight loss this is a big plus. On the down side, it resembles MDF, it has the texture of Ryvita but doesn't taste half as good, however having said all that as long as it is topped with something (I like Laughing Cow Light) it's not too bad.
Anyway on my quest to find something nice and tasty to make with the scan bran I thought of a dessert , there are loads of cakes you can make with it but I wanted something syn free and that's when I came up with Tiramisu. The Coffee is strong enough to hide (most) of the taste of scan bran and the creamy topping is a delicious compliment, so here the recipe for anyone who would like to give it a go.
FYI I lost 2.5lbs this week so only 0.5 off my 2 stone Happy but Gutted!!!

25g All-Bran (Healthy Option B choice or 3.5syns)
2 Scan Bran (Healthy Option B choice or 2syns)
110g Fat Free Fromagé Frais
35g Philadelphia Lighter  (½ Healthy Option A Choice or 2 syns)
Instant Coffee
Vanilla Essence
100ml Boiling Water
Chocolate or Cocoa Powder for topping (Optional)
Makes one Large Double layer Tiramisu or 2 Single layer

*You can replace the Philadelphia with Quark if you don’t want to use your Healthy Option A choice and it can be made with 5 pieces of scan Bran instead of the All-Bran (you may need extra coffee though!)*

In a bowl add the All-Bran and break up the scan bran.
Mix 1 teaspoon of coffee with the boiling water then add to the bran a little at a time,
mix together till the bran is soaked but not too wet. (You may need a little less/more water)
Leave to cool down and infuse, you can also add a little sweetener at this point if you don’t like your coffee too strong.
In another bowl mix together the Philly and fromagé frais and add sweetener and vanilla essence to taste.
In a glass put a layer of the cooled coffee bran in the bottom  then a layer of the fromagé frais
and repeat. Top of with a little grated chocolate or sprinkle on some cocoa powder.
Leave to set a little in the fridge about 1 hour.

Let me know how you get on and post the pictures on Instagram with #SWtiramisu and I'll keep my eyes open!

Getting Crafty again!

The last time I posted about making cards I was sharing what I made to send for Christmas, but I also make cards throughout the year for all different occasions I have some lovely feedback from that post so I thought I would share some more with you.

As I work in a Printing and Crafts supplies shop I am always trying out new things and making samples to show on the shop but orders a great and a little extra on the side.

Wisdom Wednesdays | #1

I love this saying and it so true, how many of us have had a something happen that felt insignificant , but is a moment that you will never forget. This is a little sad but, after visiting with them whenever we were leaving my Grandparents house my Grampy would always wave at us from the kitchen window as we drove away, when he became ill with cancer I noticed that he no longer came to the window to see me drive off. One Saturday night when I went round to visit I decided to leave a little early to meet my Sister at the pub. This night My Grampy waved me off from the window just like he used to, the next day he was rushed into hospital and died the following day. Through the shock and grief this was a moment that I forgotten all about. Now it is a memory I will never ever forget.

Up-Cycling | Nest of Tables

A new year and it's time to finish my room, I'm making my end date sometime before the Summer so I really need to get a crack on!
Before Christmas I finished another up-cycling jobby, a Nest of Tables.
These were originally my Grandparents sounds funny to say a set of tables holds memories but these ones do memories like having me and my siblings and cousins sitting at them at various times eating lunch when we stopped with my grandparents more often than not it would be a cheese and brown sauce sandwich. At Christmas time when the whole family were assembled and there was a distinct lack of chairs Gramps would use the little table as a chair. Anyway as many memories as they hold the did need a bit of updating. After a little sanding I decided to use spray paint which I got from Wilkinsons, I sprayed the whole of the table with a light coat after about 20 -30 min and when it was dry I did a second coat but this time I didn't spray the top.
I decided to paint each table top a different colour (to match my TV unit) one Yellow, one Teal and one pale blue. They each took a couple of coats and once the had fully dried I finished with a clear gloss.

What do you think?

NARS | One Night Stand Palette

The Nars One Night Stand palette is one of those beauty products that you see everywhere and that everyone is talking about. As a Nars virgin I thought there was no better product to pop my cherry on that this beautiful palette... and I was right.
For those of you that don't know this limited edition palette contains a Highlighting Blush, a Bronzer and four Blushers.

Devotee Highlighting Blush - This gives a lovely gives you cheeks a luminous glow which give wonderful dimension to your face.
Mistinguette Blush - This is not a colour I would ever choose to buy, but it is a colour I use a lot it is quite subtle and gives a baby pink matt effect to the cheek.
Orgasm Blush - This is the blush I had heard the most about, the one I was most excited to try out. It doesn't disappoint, it is quite shimmery and more on the coral side I love it.
Laguna Bronzer - Another cult favorite I love it and will defiantly be buying the full size once it has run out. It give you a fabulous colour.
Deep Throat Blush - This is my favorite of all the blushers and the one I have used the most, this light pink gives you very natural colouring.
Goulue Blush - This one is also beautiful, it is definitely the deepest in colour it has a slightly purple/maroon colour which you only need a little of.
So to summarise this is a freaking amazing palette and was money well spent. It was £45.00 and Exclusive to Space NK but unfortunately it is no longer available. But if it ever comes back I think it's a must have for every make-up bag.
